For those of you who do not know, Siri is the personal assistant application that is in Apple's latest device, the iPhone 4S. To use Siri, you just talk in front of the iPhone 4S and he will do what you tell.
Siri works using voice recognition, aka technology that captures the human voice and converts it into commands understood by the machine. In fact, voice recognition is not new and has been widely applied for various purposes. In Puma helicopters for example, voice recognition application is used to set the navigation system and radio communications.
However, compared to voice recognition applications that have been there, Siri feels special. Siri has the ability to capture a command based on the context, so you like to talk to a real person (fyi, Siri uses a female voice). Siri Limitations
Although special, Siri not without limitations. One of the biggest barriers is supported languages. Currently, Siri only supports English (U.S., UK, and Australia), Germany, and France. Apple is promising in 2012, Siri will support Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Italian, and Spanish.
Siri also difficulty understanding the English language with a different accent. So if your English is still dominated the local patois, there is the possibility of Siri does not work with the maximum for you.
